Summer 2020

Our Recent Focus: Cavern Storage Solutions

With shortages of storage capacity for crude oil, as well as distillates and refined products, we have a solution to address diminished storage needs. Re-purposing existing or abandoned salt caverns for the storage of oil can be done with lower cost and schedule than building above-ground storage.

Rangeland has partnered with Wolverine Energy Services to provide assessments for re-purposing of abandoned caverns for crude and oil product storage.

Rangeland also has the expertise and experience in the hydraulic downhole design and implementation of the facility and infrastructure required for the handling of crudes and refined products – by pipeline, truck, and rail. Services include:
• Cavern Evaluation
• Mechanical and Hydraulic Assessment of Existing Caverns
• Design of Infrastructure for the Handling of Crude and Refined Products
• CAPEX and OPEX Cost Estimating

Applying our expertise and knowledge of salt caverns in Alberta and across Canada,
we see a potential solution for these storage needs.

Rangelander Spotlight: Sally Carefoot

We are proud of our involvement in the Gas Processing Association of Canada (GPAC). We are equally proud that our very own Rangelander, Sally Carefoot, has taken on a new volunteer role with GPAC!

COVID-19 Workplace Return

We understand the need to maintain safe operations at all facilities, and for all engineering projects to be high quality, delivered on time and at a cost that aligns with the shifting economy.

Our remote working conditions confirmed what we already knew – we are highly adaptable and have a robust IT infrastructure in place to handle virtual work and meetings. All of our project deliverables were met during the COVID 19 shutdown and we continue to provide quality engineering services.

We monitor and ensure AHS guidelines are followed for returning to work in
phases and providing the safest possible working environment.

Engineering Design Verification

Our experienced team provides engineering verification and authentication/stamping services:
• Verification and preparation of engineering designs and specifications / codes
• Preparation of specifications for CRP) and/or RPR and CRN
• Process and Mechanical Packages

Services include:
• Module and Process Skids
• Pressure Piping Registration
• Stamping of P&IDs, LDTs, Vendor Drawings
• Structural Independent Reviews
• Foundation and Seismic
• Electrical – Substation and Power Distribution
• Instrumentation
• Site Development
• Static and Rotating Equipment

We prepare and approve documents meeting Provincial, Federal and US State industrial regulatory activities.

Sarcoma Cancer Research Partnership – Rangeland Golf Tournament

Unfortunately and like so many other events, we have had to cancel our annual fundraising golf
tournament this summer.

We remember our past tourneys with great fondness.

Rangeland will continue to look for ways to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation and other community initiatives which are struggling right now.
