Rangeland Engineering's EH&S Management System is a linked set of elements including clearly defined expectations, requirements, practices and procedures.
- Rangeland's senior management is committed to educating its staff to the EH&S policies established in its operations manuals. These policies are communicated and implemented by senior management. Rangeland ensures that sufficient resources are made available to ensure success of the EH&S system.
- Rangeland senior management is responsible for identifying EH&S risks and transmitting these potential risks to staff and client contacts. Action is taken to control risks. Rangeland communicates with the client to understand the Risk Tolerance of the client. Rangeland has a change management policy to identify changes that occur during a project and take action to minimize effects.
- Rangeland prepares an Emergency Response Plan in conjunction with the client to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Rangeland provides training to staff so that emergency situations can be effectively handled. Courses include First Aid, Confined Space Training, CPR, WHMIS, H2S Alive, etc. Rangeland monitors staff currency with respect to required training.
- Senior Management at Rangeland ensures that appropriate EH&S practices exist and that these practices are adhered to. These practices cover air emissions, chemical spills, and water drainage. Rangeland conducts in conjunction with the client HAZOP reviews of each project to determine potential operating problems and minimize the opportunity for incidents. Rangeland reviews all appropriate government permits, regulations and local legal requirements.
- Rangeland has a policy for the review of vendor capabilities to ensure products delivered to the client are safe and suitable for the required application.
- Rangeland has an effective incident reporting system as outlined in the Procedures Manuals, that is composed of an incident report, incident investigation, management feedback and change management reports that result in procedural changes to minimize reoccurrence.
- Rangeland has a filing system which includes digital and hard copies, with offsite backup to ensure that documents are not misplaced.
- Rangeland has instituted an After Action Review System to review each project and identify things that were done well, things that were not done well, and to document deficiencies for correction. The AAR includes all key participants in the project.
- Items identified in the AAR are reviewed by Rangeland Senior Management and relayed to all project teams so that all staff can benefit from lessons learned.
